As the Director and Founder of the Nutrition Center for Training and Research (NCTR) at Ahfad University for Women (AUW) from 2001 to December 2010, I played a key role in establishing the center as the leading institute for nutrition education and research in Sudan. NCTR's mission is to develop both the field of nutrition and the capacity of nutritionists, particularly women, through academic programs (PhD, MS, and Higher Diploma) and short-term training courses. Since its inception, NCTR has graduated over X students, many of whom now hold leadership positions in government agencies, NGOs, and academia.
